Japanese translation services company wanted to have a dictionary script conversion service. The application provides the following features:

  • Implementation of multiple dictionaries (any language to Japanese) in one TYPO3 installation
  • Automatic Japanese script conversion from Kanji to Hiragana and Romaji
  • Easy data import to dictionary using CSV (comma separated values) files. Since CSV files can be created and modified in any of the commonly available spreadsheet applications (Microsoft Excel, OpenOffice.org Calc), the user can easily create and import the data to application
  • Quick data backup in compressed zip file to save network bandwidth. User can decompress the file using Winzip, or any other commonly available tool
  • Partial and full text search support
  • Bilingual text search support. This means user can not only search in primary language, but in any of the three Japanese scripting languages i.e. Kanji, Hiragana, and Romaji
  • Group/Role based access control. Dictionary supports three types of users (administrator, master editor, and editor) for managing, monitoring, and administering application data. Editors can add and edit their own data (vocabulary) in the application. Master editors together with adding and editing their own data can edit/delete any record (including other users) in the application. Administrator users have all the rights mentioned above plus the privilege to back-up and import data in the application
  • Front-end based easy to use application management. Editors and (application) administrator users can login using the common website login and edit and back-up dictionary data without having any prior knowledge or access to complex TYPO3 back-end
  • Attachment of primary and Japanese pronunciation audio files
  • Attachment of multiple images with dictionary records
  • Fully customizable user interface via templates
