Scrum Master

Delhi, India

Srijan is looking for a Scrum Master with an extensive experience of working with Agile processes to guide the team in using Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers.

 

Essential Duties

Development Team Leadership

  • Guiding the team on using Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers
  • Enabling team to self organize
  • Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team
  • Removing impediments to maximise the team’s output by finding and allocating resources from within the organization
  • Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving
  • Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, the need for assigning, or dictating the work
  • Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
  • Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example

 

Business Team Leadership

  • Doing everything possible to ensure delighting customers
  • Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog
  • Take Leadership in requirements gathering and translating them into the Product Backlog
  • In case the Product Owner is missing the right competencies, be willing to take charge of PO responsibilities, and coaching the PO to ensure he/she truly owns the Backlog
  • Being the resident Business Analyst on the team, -- and reaching out to resources across the organization to seek help in BA or other skills as needed
  • Manage the changing scope of the project to measure & monitor project costs
  • Engage with the client/PO in educating and negotiating on costs or scope of the project
  • Write and manage project SOWs
  • Taking the lead in internal and external communication, improving transparency, and ensuring information radiators are proactively updated

 

Required Skills/Experience

  • Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least 1 year for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles & practices
  • Good skills and knowledge of facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continuous improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • Knowledge of online tools such as Rally, Pivotal or JIRA (preferred)
  • Excellent English communication skills

 

Preferred Skills/Experience (Any of these is a plus)

  • First level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I) OR PMP
  • Experience having been a QA-Lead managing multiple QA team members on several large projects (min of 12 man-months each)
